Sunday, April 22, 1-3 p.m., to mark the 25th anniversary of Birthright P.E.I. and to help celebrate the lives of women and babies who have been supported and loved into being through the services of this group. This celebration will be held at Murphy’s Community Centre, Richmond Street, Charlottetown, Room 303.
Friday, April 27, for a Goods and Services auction at Winsloe United Church, 121 Winsloe Rd., Winsloe. The viewing of items and canteen service is will 6-7 p.m., with the auction beginning at 7 p.m. Bobby and Arlene Roberts are the auctioneers. Items to be auctioned include home-baking and preserves, certificates for local businesses, arts and crafts, lessons, wood work, gift baskets and more. Drinks and other goodies will be available for sale.
Saturday, April 28, 8-10 a.m., for the Brackley Breach pancake breakfast, at the Brackley Beach Community Centre, 3330 Brackley Point Rd. Enjoy a hearty meal of pancakes, sausage and bacon and spend some time with family and friends. Admission is adults, $7, children, $4. Proceeds are for the upkeep of the centre. Sunday, April 29, 10 a.m. to noon, for the Tracadie Lions Club’s pancake brunch on at the Tracadie Community Centre. Funds raised will support the QEH/Eastlink Telethon. Tickets are available at the door by cash or debit. Admission: $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Sunday, April 29, 2-4 p.m., for an interactive community forum entitled “Is Charity enough: Asking why?” being put on by the Latin American Mission Program at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Hall, 151 Stratford Rd., Stratford. There is no charge. The forum aims to engage people in challenging the charity approach to deep-seated impoverishment of many people in P.E.I. and to encourage new forms of relationships between Canadians and people in countries of the Global south. April 14, 8:30-10:30 a.m., for the 2018 Spring Breakfast and Bake Sale at West River United Church in Cornwall. Enjoy pancakes and sausages, cinnamon rolls, cheese, muffins, fruit cup, juice, tea or coffee, with a limited supply of glutenfree products available. Fitness for 50+ classes with certified fitness professional Angelie Carter (focus on flexibility and balance) are Mondays and Fridays, 9 a.m., at the Milton Community Hall. Cost is $3. Classes are cancelled on days there is a school delay or closure due to weather.
Good Neighbourly Club Fitness Program at Tracadie Community Centre is on Mondays, 6:30 p.m., with low impact fitness using body weights, dumb bells and exercise balls. All fitness levels are welcome. Cost is $4, pay as you go.
