American champ dominates P.E.I. event
Chris Hanson, currently ranked 76th in the world, concluded his undefeated streak with a 3-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-5) drubbing of unseeded Mario Yanez from Mexico to capture the Vogue Optical Pro Squash Event recently at UPEI. Hanson did not give up a game in four consecutive matches with Nick Sutcliff (England), Allan Nunez (Mexico), Aditya Jagtap (India) and Yanez Chris to take home his third career Professional Squash Association title to go along with his two USA closed championships. Canadian No. 1 Nick Sachvie (St. Catharine’s, Ont.), making a comeback after two months of inactivity (rotator cuff), failed to live up to his No. 2 seeding, as he was upset by Yanez in the semifinals.
