MacKinnon seeks Ward 10 Charlottetown seat in election
Jason MacKinnon has declared his intention to seek the Ward 10 seat with Charlottetown city council in the November municipal election.
MacKinnon currently drives a bus for the Public Schools Branch where he also sits as chairman for the health and safety committee.
He’s also an independent business owner and skilled in carpentry. Originally from Ellerslie, MacKinnon said he has been a resident of Ward 10 for more than 18 years.
MacKinnon is married to Carla Wilson-MacKinnon, daughter of Carl and the late Patricia Wilson, who lived her whole life of 41 years on Southdale in the family home. They have two boys, Brandon, 14, and Keegan, 9.
“Being in the community of Hillsborough for such a long time, I have developed strong ties to this beautiful area and would like to see our community thrive,’’ MacKinnon said. “Over the years of holding different positions and volunteering with different organizations I have a hard work ethic and want to use these tools to help sustain and grow our wonderful district.’’
MacKinnon said he looks forward to visiting with all the members of the community and listening to their concerns, ideas and values on making Ward 10 a more safe, diverse and beautiful place to live.
The Ward 10 seat is currently held by Coun. Terry Bernard.
