FUNDRAISING
Evangeline Recreation Centre, the Acadian Musical Village and Mont Carmel Parish hold a Chase the Ace draw every Friday at Acadian Musical Village, AbramVillage. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the draw at 9 p.m. (estimated $33,000 in 23 cards on April 27). Entertainment is by The Treble Makers, 8-10 p.m. There is free admission to this event, which is for those 19 years and over. Contact 902-854-3300.
A group of well-known Island musicians will join forces on May 4 in support of the Kaylee Hall at Poole’s Corner. Three bands will be represented with Eddy Quinn and Old Habits, Phase II and Friends and Mike McGarry, lead singer and lead guitar player for The Rustlers. There will be a 50/50 draw, as well as a bar and canteen. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music beginning at 8 p.m. Bring dancing shoes, and between sets, have a chat with the Frasers and the band members.

A dance is at the Summerside Legion, May 4, 9 p.m., featuring music of New Moon – Larry Campbell, Andy Paynter and Shane Arsenault. There is a $5 cover charge.

Queens County Music Festival Queens County Music Festival continues until May 4 at the Steel Recital Hall, UPEI, and Park Royal United Church, Charlottetown. The Kings County Music Festival is April 30 to May 5 at Hillcrest United Church in Montague. Programs are available at The Source in Montague and Long and McQuade in Charlottetown for $3. Eptek Art & Culture Centre in Summerside features Yesterday, Today (A Portrait of Summerside) with oil paintings by artist Eddy Schwartz.
