The funeral for Dora Keizer was held Saturday, April 28, 2018 from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home under the direction of Kevin Gallant and staff. The funeral mass was celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Basilica by Reverend John Lacey who also delivered the homily. The first reading was proclaimed by son Norman Keizer and the second reading was proclaimed by niece Sharon Cash. The prayers of the faithful were led by Norman Keizer and Sharon Cash. Altar servers, offertory procession and Eucharisti­c ministers were members of St. Dunstan’s Basilica. The funeral mass was sung by St. Dunstan’s Basilica Choir under the direction of organist Leo Marchildon. They sang the opening hymn, Immaculate Mary, the communion hymn, One Love Released, and the recessiona­l hymn, How Great Thou Art. The offertory, In the Garden, was rendered by Dora’s family and friends. The meditation solo, In the Arms of the Angel, was rendered by Donna Johnson Campbell accompanie­d by Richie Bolger as guitarist. The pallbearer­s were Norman, Teresa, Kevin, Mark, Anne Marie and Timothy Keizer. Honorary pallbearer­s were all those in attendance. Among those attending were members of Sisters of St. Martha, staff of the Garden Home and the Charlottet­own Police Department, who also escorted the funeral procession. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery with Rev. John Lacey presiding and piper Matthew MacLaine playing at the graveside.
