West River United Church to host Lady Singers of our Century
Tribute show features music of performers such as Connie Francis, Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Rita MacNeil
The Lady Singers of our Century take the stage for a concert at West River United Church in Cornwall on Sunday, May 6, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the concert, which is a fundraiser for the church, are $12 and can be purchased at the church office or at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.
A light lunch will be served. This group of Island performers has been working hard to present a new show and will be paying tribute to a wide variety artists.
Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor will be singing familiar songs of Connie Francis, as well as songs of their favourite gym teacher, Anne Murray. They have put together some great stories and jokes that will keep the audience entertained and laughing.
Jolee Patkai is looking forward to once again paying tribute to her favourite female country artist, Loretta Lynn, singing her most requested songs. Patkai will also pay tribute to Crystal Gayle, Lynn’s sister.
Keila Glydon will also continue to sing Patsy Cline’s most requested songs, and she will be paying tribute to Tammy Wynette, singing some of her more popular songs.
Colleen MacPhee will be paying tribute once again to the late, great Rita MacNeil. She will be singing all new material of Rita’s except for “The Working Man”, which the group has kept as its final song.
