Spring sale June 1-2

Zion Presbyterian Church raises money to support a variety of activities

Many helping hands are putting the finishing touches on Zion Presbyterian Church’s seventh annual spring sale.

The sale will run Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in all three levels of the Charlottetown church which is located at 135 Prince Street, the corner of Prince and Grafton streets.

Sadie Stewart and Roylean Keizer, co-chairs of the sale, say that once again this year they are amazed at the amount of donations that have arrived for the event.

The sale features men, women and children’s clothing, with all the accessories. The bake sale offers up a wide variety of tasty rolls, jams, preserves, biscuits, bread and fudge.

As well, perennials are on sale and a barbeque is held outside the church on the sidewalk.

In addition to cash, people can pay through their debit or credit card.

“Prices are rock bottom,” says Stewart, adding the money raised goes to support a variety of church activities.

Approximately 50 members of the congregation will be helping out on the sale days, says Keizer. She said the event is as much about fellowship as it is about raising money. Stewart agreed.

“I remember the first one we had … if we hadn’t raised any money at all, it was worth it to see all the people in here having such a great time.”
