Fourth suspect identified in violent Summerside robbery

-

Summerside police say they have obtained a warrant for the arrest of the fourth and final suspect from Sunday’s robbery incident on Water Street.

Scott Bruce Dalziel, 40, is charged with one count of robbery.

Anyone with information on Dalziel’s whereabouts is asked to call the Summerside Police Service at 902-432-1201.

The incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday, when a woman at a Water Street motel reported that four men allegedly forced their way into her room, robbed her and her boyfriend and

stabbed her during the encounter. She was not seriously injured.

The suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived. The victims were able to identify three of the suspects involved.

Shortly after 4 a.m., police located the suspect vehicle at a Duke Street residence.

Police arrested two of the suspects without incident, but the third fled back into the residence and was pursued by police.

Police say the suspect used violence in resisting the officer’s attempts to take him into custody, and two officers discharged their service pistols during the incident, injuring the suspect.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, that suspect died from his injuries at Prince County Hospital. He has since been identified as 32-yearold Jeremy Stephens of Summerside.

Aaron Christopher Prichard, 34, and Congjie Tan, 26, both of Summerside have since been arrested and face charges related to robbery.

They have both been remanded into custody.
