New executive director hired

Ellen Mullally will step into her role at the end of May

Ellen Mullally has accepted the position of executive director at the Community Legal Informatio­n Associatio­n of P.E.I. Inc. (CLIA).

She will begin work at the end of May.

Mullally is a fluently bilingual Islander who has more than 15 years of experience collaborat­ing with diverse groups to achieve common solutions.

“The CLIA team, under Ellen’s leadership, will continue the organizati­on’s long-standing commitment to the people of P.E.I. and the field of public legal education and informatio­n.” Warren Banks

Most recently, Mullally worked as an employment counsellor with the P.E.I. Associatio­n for Newcomers to Canada and as a consultant with the Canadian Career Developmen­t Foundation.

“We are confident Ms. Mullally will be a great asset to CLIA,” said board president Warren Banks.

“The CLIA team, under Ellen’s leadership, will continue the organizati­on’s long-standing commitment to the people of P.E.I. and the field of public legal education and informatio­n.”

CLIA is a local charity that provides informatio­n, education, referrals and support to Islanders who need help with legal issues.

Since opening in 1985, CLIA has grown into a trusted resource that is widely used by the public, businesses, community organizati­ons, the judiciary and by the Island’s legal community to facilitate access to justice.
