“Over All I Know” is another worshipful title that sings of God’s sovereignty.

“Hallelujah Amen” (featuring Jon Guerra) is one of my favourite tracks on “Bright Faith, Bold Future.” A beautiful worship song, its theme is simple and true: “Great is the Lord God Almighty/ Worthy of honour and praise/ I stand in awe of His glory/ I stand in need of His grace. / Hallelujah/ Hallelujah/ For the Lord our God Almighty reigns/ Hallelujah, Amen.”

The theme of the album is exactly what the title says it is. Vocalist Andi Rozier says the band’s previous albums have been about 90 per cent hindsight.

“This is what the Lord has done while ‘Bright Faith Bold Future’ is a looking forward.”

The Vertical Worship website, in a post about the songs on this album, says, “We see throughout the Bible Jesus reminding us that yes, you will have trouble in the world, but that He has conquered the world.

We hear Jesus telling His disciples that He is going to prepare a place for us. So, we don’t have a fool-hearted hope, but a tasted and seen hope.

“The hope is as you listen, and these songs embed themselves in your life, that the name Vertical Worship would fade and the truth in the songs would grow, lifting your eyes up to the heavens, to one day see our Savior return and bring us into the boldest future we could ever imagine and the fulfilment of this bright faith.”

With “Bright Faith Bold Future,” Vertical Worship is truly directing its listeners’ hearts upwards, toward a Father who is deserving of our praise.
