Cathy Anne (Lewis) Kennedy aged 65 years. Beloved wife of David Kennedy, devoted mother to Connor, Freetown; Michael (Samantha), Stratford and Jennifer Kennedy (Matt), Summerside. Cathy was born in Summerside on September 8, 1952 the only daughter of Colleen (MacLean) and the late Edwin Lewis of Freetown, dear sister of Peter, Pugwash, NS.; Cathy will be missed very much by her sister-in-law Nancy Smitheram (Verner) and brothers-in-law P.J. and Bruce Kennedy of South Carolina and her friends. She grew up on the farm where eventually she and David raised their family. Cathy loved her animals, especially her sheep and Llamas, a long line of special dogs and cats, her horses, and the land in all its seasons. Above all she loved her family, and spending time with David, the boys and Jennifer on the farm led to a vast storehouse of happy memories for all. Cathy’s intelligence, brave spirit and work ethic were very evident to those who were fortunate to know and love her. Diagnosed with MS in 1992 Cathy lived her life on her terms until recently, and never complained or faltered. Many people at the PCH and QEH helped make Cathy’s last days peaceful and meaningful and her family would like to thank them all. Your kindnesses will never be forgotten. In memory of Cathy walk lightly upon the land, honor those who tend it and love the wildlife and animals who live among us.
