Ireland meets the Island at Ceilidh in the City

-

The Ceilidh in the City is off and rolling for the 2018 season after almost a sell-out crowd for opening night.

The Wednesday, July 4, show will feature a mixture of traditional Irish music performed by a duo called The Road, along with Island favourites by P.E.I.’s Dino Dunsford.

The Road is an innovative Irish traditional guitar duo hailing from Ireland.

Consisting of Brian Byrne from Cork and Patrick Crehan from Tipperary, the pair combines a number of musical influences from Irish traditional to Scottish and rock music to create a fresh and unique sound.

The pair has achieved musical success back home in Ireland winning numerous awards. Byrne and Crehan have played across Europe and Africa and are now gracing the stages of North America, starting on P.E.I.

Dunsford who will be sharing the stage with this dynamic duo, needs little introduction on any Island stage. With a singing career that has spanned over five decades, he is always a crowd favourite.

These three musicians will be joining the hosts of the Ceilidh in the City – Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin – at the Jack Blanchard Centre in Charlottetown for what promises to be a lively night of toe-tapping music.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. showtime. A canteen service will be provided with all sorts of fresh baked items and refreshments.

A 50/50 draw will also be held is support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund that helps various Island charities and families in need.

For additional information, call Docherty at 902-569-1133 or Knox at 902-569-3327 or follow along online at facebook.com/ CeilidhInTheCity.
