French-language school board launches strategic planning process
The Commission scolaire de langue français (CSLF), the Island’s French-language school board, has launched its strategic planning process.
The strategic plan that will emerge will replace the 2010-14 plan, which was maintained until numerous parallel completed.
The CSLF plan should thus dovetail with the provincial educational plan, the national French-language education plan and the Acadian and Francophone community’s 2017-27 efforts were global development plan.
The CSLF’s process will follow three steps.
First, staff will compile data to feed the analysis and discussions of participants during the following steps. Over the summer months, they will compile the latest scientific research, statistics and best practices in education as well as strategic plans elsewhere in Canada.
The second step, which will occur throughout the fall, will consult key stakeholders to identify the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the CSLF and its six schools, the advantages and challenges of French-language education on P.E.I. and the objectives and results to include in the next strategic plan.
The CSLF will host a provincial forum on French-language education on P.E.I. to tackle topics such as 21st century learning, modern pedagogy, the school at the heart of a community and complete educational management in minority language communities.
The third step will draft and adopt the strategic plan as well as tactical plans for each of its targeted objectives and results.
The CSLF hopes to begin implementing its strategic plan on April 1, 2019.
