O’Rourke, Taylor, Martin share their experience at She Leads

Coming back home for a bit, two-time Olympic gold-medallist Heather Moyse headlines Sport P.E.I.’s She Leads seminar set for Saturday, Sept. 29, in Charlottetown.

The event at the Holiday Inn Express runs 9 a.m. to noon.

Moyse, four times an Olympic bobsleigh brakeman, has become a motivational speaker and recently released her first book “Redefining Realistic”. The Summerside native will have a one-hour question-and-answer session on her career and book.

Before Moyse, the day kicks off with a discussion about women in leadership positions moderated by Lynn Anne Hogan, and includes panellists Kathy O’Rourke, Alanna Taylor and Louise Martin.

O’Rourke, managing partner of Grant Thornton P.E.I., was a silver medallist at 2010 Canadian women’s curling and the 1999 Canadian mixed curling championships. In 1989, she garnered a Canadian mixed championship.

Taylor, a partner with Cox and Palmer, played volleyball and soccer at UPEI, where she was a Canadian university all-star and player of the year finalist. She was the first women’s soccer player inducted into the UPEI Sports Hall of Fame.

Martin, host of CBC News: Compass, offers her insight from many years of broadcast journalism.

Cost is $40 per person with light refreshments included. The first 25 registrants receive a copy of Moyse’s book
