ARSENAULT, Mya Rose
The largely attended funeral for Mya Arsenault, beloved daughter of Michael and Carolyn (Burke) Arsenault, of South Rustico, was held on Monday, September 10, 2018, at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico. The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Alrulraj Santiago, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by her parents, Michael and Carolyn Arsenault. The first reading, from Ecclesiastes, was addressed by Madison McGinnis. The second reading, from I Thessalonians, was addressed by Tammy Jenkins. The Prayers of the Faithful were led by Sherri Palmer and Dawn Jones. Heartfelt words of remembrance were shared by Emma Arsenault, Victoria Rolfe and Brooke Parsons. The altar servers were James Donnelly, Peter Gallant and Joseph O. Gallant. Joan Blacquiere, Joe Gallant and Anne Marie Vessey assisted Father Raj as Eucharistic ministers. The music was provided by the church choir with Shane Arsenault as organist, Karen Powell as violinist and Phyllis Arsenault as choir director. The hymns were: Entrance, “On Eagles Wings”; Psalm, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”; Gospel Acclamation, “Celtic Alleluia”, with Janet Cox as cantor; offertory, “The Summons”; communion, “You Are My Saviour”, sung by Phyllis Arsenault”; commendation, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessional, an audio recording by Ariana Grande, “No Tears Left To Cry”. Pallbearers were Dwayne MacQuarrie, Arlen Arsenault, Eric Madina, Brian Victor, Andy Arsenault and Michael Doucette. Flower bearers were Jillian MacQuarrie, Sarah Arsenault, Abby Buote, Hailey Cole, Brooke Parsons, Emma Arsenault, Victoria Rolfe, Hannah MacDougall, Aidan McGinnis and Madison McGinnis. Among those in attendance were staff and students of Bluefield High School. Interment took place in the church cemetery where Father Raj conducted the committal service. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen`s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
