SIMPSON, W. Vernon

The funeral for W. Vernon Simpson of Summerside was held Friday September 7, 2018 from the Davison Funeral Home Kensington to Trinity United Church Summerside where the service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Dr. Andrew Richardson. Words of remembrance were shared by grandsons Tyler Simpson, Troy Simpson and Drew Coulson. Scripture readings were given by granddaughters Teila Coulson and Alyssa Simpson-Hartwell. Congregational Hymns were His Eyes are on the Sparrow, Safe in the Arms of Jesus and The Last Mile of the Way. Organist was Louise Elder. Attending the funeral were members of the Summerside Lions Club, Brethren of Prince Edward Lodge, and the choir of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Irishtown. Flowerbearers were Tyler Simpson, Alyssa Simpson Hartwell, Troy Simpson, Drew Coulson and Teila Coulson. Honorary Pallbearers were J. Garth Gillespie, Ron and Elaine Leard, Willis and Dorothy MacLean, Sid and Marie Landry, Ira and Priscilla Strongman, Rose Marie Pineo and Bev and Shirley Simpson. Pallbearers were Doug Simpson, Michael Picketts, John Picketts, Michael Adams, Ken Crossman and Dean Zeeben. Members of the Summerside Lions Club held a service at the funeral home Thursday evening conducted at 8:30 p.m. by Lion Roger Richard. Readers were King Lion Edwin Gallant, Lion Greg Deighan and Lion Cleve Rix. Brethren of Prince Edward Lodge # 14 held a Masonic Memorial Service at the funeral home Thursday evening conducted at 9 p.m. by VW Bro(h) John MacIsaac, PM. The service was attended by MW Bro Gordon Carter, Grand Master of Masons for Prince Edward Island; Worshipful Master W Bro Adam Campbell, Chaplain Bro Douglas Silliker, Marshal W Bro Gerald Meek together with the officers and brethren of Prince Edward Lodge and several visiting brethren.
