Fi­nale Sept. 16 for Sun­day Night Shenani­gans

Sun­day Night Shenani­gans, held at York Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, will be pre­sent­ing an ex­cit­ing fi­nal show/ceilidh this week­end, Sept. 16 start­ing at 7 p.m.

“We have had a busy sum­mer and it cer­tainly was lot of fun cel­e­brat­ing the tenth sea­son for this pop­u­lar Is­land roots event,” said host Judy Ma­cLean.

This fi­nale event is no ex­cep­tion when it comes to a great lineup with such fea­tured acts as a four-piece group called Kil­lick Junc­tion from Kings County.

Also on the bill is Dave Al­tass, lead singer of The Blue Crys­tal, Dy­lan Fer­gu­son, Em­mett DeCoursey and Perry Bat­ten who hails from Fox­trap, N.L. The Judy Ma­cLean Dancers will be rep­re­sented by cham­pion step dancer Is­abelle Saun­ders per­form­ing an award-win­ning chore­ographed num­ber. Lead vo­cal­ist Len Buell of Kil­lick Junc­tion will no doubt sing a cou­ple of songs from an ear­lier CD he recorded called “Nothin’ Fancy” with Smilin’ Bill’s son, young Billy McCor­mack. Other band mem­bers of Kil­lick Junc­tion are Edna MacMaster, vo­cals and har­mony; Wayne Ma­cLean, backup guitarist, and Ur­ban Chais­son, the new­est mem­ber to the group, a mul­ti­tal­ented singer who plays fid­dle, gui­tar and other in­stru­ments. They per­form many styles of mu­sic, in­clud­ing Ir­ish/Celtic songs, plus some tra­di­tional tunes, East Coast bal­lads and more.

The evening also of­fers a light lunch com­pli­ments of ADL, At­lantic Su­per­stores, Buns and Things Bak­ery and P.E.I. Pre­serve Com­pany. There is also a 50/50 draw and a Ve­seys vis­i­tor prize.
