We are saddened to announce the sudden passing on Friday, September 7, 2018 of Wendell Dennis of Victoria by the Sea, P.E.I. Born in Charlottet­own, April 5, 1946, Wendell was predecease­d by his parents Vernon S. and Ruby A. (Stewart) Dennis, and his brother Ralph Boswall Dennis. He is the dear brother of June Ives (William) and John S. Dennis (Paula). Cherished uncle of David Ives, Cindy Ives, Michael Ives (Anne), Heather Campbell (Jeff Hutcheson), and Jennifer Ives. He is also survived by five grand nieces, and two grand nephews. Peacefully at the Beach Grove Home on Friday, September 21, 2018 of Clee Gillis of Charlottet­own age 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Egan Rethy) Gillis. Loving father of Karen MacAdam, Steve (Wendy), Sandi, Julius (Tina) and Janice (Joey). Lovingly remembered by special great grandson Brandon MacAdam, and special granddaugh­ters Shannon MacAdam and Jennifer Rethy (Brad Kennedy). Loving Poppie to Sheena, Andrea, Jodi, Kristen, Michaela, Ty, Brodie, Karson and Tyson and to 14 great grandchild­ren. Clee is also lovingly remembered by brothers John (Sonny) Gillis (Phyllis deceased) GA Gormley (Carolyn), sisters Beatrice Doucette, Betty Ann Lovejoy and members of the Poulton family. He was predecease­d by parents Mabel (Lund) and Wilfred Gillis, first wife Imelda (Pineau), infant son Shane, brother Joe, sister Muriel Pottie, special aunt and uncle Sarah and Oliver Poulton and in-laws Norman, Carl, Eric and Bertha. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home until Monday, September 24th, then transferre­d to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottet­own.
