Inclusions East set to hold annual gala
Inclusions East Inc., the largest organization in Kings County that specializes in supporting people with intellectual disabilities, is hosting its second annual fundraising gala dinner and casino night Saturday, Sept. 29, 6:30 p.m., at the Montague Curling Club.
The event is raising funds for the construction of a new building to replace the aging Kingswood Centre in Montague, which has served as a training centre and administration office for over 40 years.
The dinner will be prepared by the local Lions Club. More than $25,000 in cash and merchandise prizes will be up for grabs through a reverse draw and casino gamers.

“Attendees can expect an exciting evening of socializing with friends, neighbours and colleagues within a thrilling casinolike atmosphere complete with blackjack tables, prize wheels and the ever-popular RC car racing competition,’’ said Inclusions Inc. executive director Nancy Anderson.
“Emcee Kerri Wynne Macleod will keep the audience in stitches throughout the emotional rollercoaster ride that accompanies the reverse draw.”
Inclusions East will also present its employer and business or community champion awards that recognize members of the larger community who have worked to make Kings County a more inclusive place for residents who live with intellectual disabilities.
Anderson said there is a great need to replace the aging facility.
“We’ve long been aware of how shortcomings in our facility negatively affect our client’s comfort, our staff’s ability to deliver the highest level of service and training and our organization’s ability to address our waiting list, expand our programming and strengthen our connection to the larger community of Montague and surrounding area,’’ she said.
“A new, more accessible, and larger facility will greatly increase the ability of our organization to offer a modern level of service to our clients.”
