Two times the fun

Ceilidh in the City to host Michael Pendergast and Leon Gallant

-

This evening’s Ceilidh in the City will be featuring the music and antics of Island musicians Leon Gallant and Michael Pendergast.

This dynamic duo has been performing together for years and is known for high-energy performances and well-written songs and tunes that celebrate Island life and the joys and struggles of living in rural fishing villages.

Gallant is a fiddler, guitar player and singer, whose energy on the stage seems to stem right from his toes, and he has been a crowd favourite each time he comes to perform.

Pendergast is a musician who wears many musical hats. He is well known as the children’s entertainer “the Music Man”, as well as on stage this past summer at Clinton Hills and for regular ceilidh performances in the Stanley Bridge and Cavendish areas all summer.

Gallant and Pendergast will be taking their high-energy show to the Ceilidh in the City stage this week alongside hosts Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Heartz Godkin and Brian Knox.

The show will get underway at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack Blanchard Centre, at 7 Pond St., Charlottetown. General admission is at the door with reservations accepted for those travelling in groups or with special medical or mobility requirements. Reservations can be made by calling Docherty at 902-569-1133 or Knox at 902569-3327 or online by messaging the show at facebook.com/CeilidhInTheCity.

A 50/50 draw will also take place in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund, a fund which supports various Island charities and families in financial need. There will also be a canteen service offering fresh baked treats and refreshments operated by the catering staff at Jack Blanchard Centre.
