TRAFFIC DELAYS

-

A traffic advisory has been issued with the following impacts expected for today. The right turning lane on Capital Drive, onto North River Road, will be closed to allow for storm sewer pipe installation.

Motorists will still be permitted to make a right-hand turn at the intersection by using the through lane on Capital Drive.

The work is expected to last all week and traffic control personnel will be onsite. It is anticipated that traffic will experience some delays as a result of the work and the city has advised motorists to seek alternate routes.

A section of Bayfield Street, between University Avenue and Queen Street, will also be closed to traffic for milling work if weather permits. There will be no parking allowed on the road until 5 p.m. today. Milling will also take place on Thompson Drive, between North River Road and Sandstone Road, weather permitting. This section will be reduced to one lane of traffic for the day.

Sewer construction will also continue to impact traffic along Belvedere Avenue this week and could also affect sidewalks in the area. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct motorists, who are being advised to seek alternate route.

Catch basin work will take place on the corner of Edinburgh Drive and Westwood Crescent.
