Emma Docherty took her last breath on October 5, 2018 at Beach Grove Home at the age of 80 years. Born in Millview, she moved to Toronto when she married but soon returned to Elmwood, P.E.I. and only left there once entering the nursing home two years ago. She will be greatly missed by many, but most of all by her family. Loving wife and best friend of Kenneth; mother of Darlene & Blake, Donalda, Alex & Valerie; Nanny to Cory & Krista, Justin & Becky, Dexter, Jordan & Caitlin, Amber, and Logan & Rebecca; GreatNanny to Carter, Austin, Grace, Selina, Everett and soon-to-be twin great granddaugh­ters. She also leaves behind her sisters Dot Buchanan, Marion MacEachern, Edna Green, Prue Green, Linda Chappell and Helen Keating; sisters-in-law Blanche Willis, Jean Godfrey, Margaret Weatherbie, and Betty Weatherbie, as well as many nieces & nephews. Emma was predecease­d by her parents Ambrose & Mabel (Taylor) Weatherbie, her infant son, her brothers John & Elwood; big sister Lou Carver and twin sister Louise MacLeod; her brothersin-law Sam Willis, Earl Willis, Alton Green, Robert Green, Graham Chappell, & Stan Godfrey; sister-in-law Georgie Willis. Emma will be remembered for many things including being a wonderful and supportive farming wife, loving mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r; nursemaid to both humans and animals, fabulous cook, having a green thumb, and the importance of others being on time, particular­ly for meals. Those whose lives she touched, have been very fortunate but those in her life made Emma feel like she mattered. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment in Burnside Presbyteri­an Church Cemetery, Clyde River.
