Saturday, Oct. 20, 5:30 p.m., for a Pork Fest Dinner at Park Royal United Church gym. Enjoy a meal, some autumn décor, conversati­on and good company. Tickets are in the church office by calling 902-8949656 during the week. Admission is adults, $15, and children, 12 and under, $7.

Saturday, Oct. 27, for a hot roast beef dinner with all the trimmings at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River, with two sittings: 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. (take-outs available, to be picked up at 3 p.m.). There will also be craft and bake tables to browse. Tickets are $16/adult and $7/child aged six to 12 years and free for children under 6. Tickets must be ordered in advance by calling Debbie, 902-964-2882.

Saturday, Oct. 27, 5-7 p.m., for St. John’s United Church’s annual Beans and Wieners Supper at the Mt. Stewart Community Center. Tickets are $7 with five and under free. They are at the door or by calling Shirley Affleck, 902-676-2549. Enjoy a delicious supper served with homemade rolls, biscuits, sweets, tea, coffee and juice.

Entertainm­ent

The Clyde River Baptist Church Gospel Concert with Garth and Liane MacKay is Oct. 7, 7 p.m. They will be sharing their journey together in word and song. All are welcome.

Regular monthly ceilidh is at the Dunstaffna­ge School Centre on Oct. 7, 7 p.m., hosted by Roadmaster­s’ Band (Ivor Price, Wayne Diamond, Theo Wiegers, Dave Moore) with guest entertaine­rs Rob Nelson, Paulette Runahan, Coby and Irvin Amoraal, Emmett Decoursey and Lorraine Lynch. Admission is $8. There’s a 50/50 draw and lunch. The centre is wheelchair accessible.

Fundraiser

The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, will be having a Euchre tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Registrati­on is at 12:45 p.m. with the tournament starting at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for non-members. There will be a 50/50 draw as well as prizes for first, second and third.
