Oct. 24-25, 1-4 p.m., for a 55 Alive Driving Refresher Course at the Royalty Centre, 40 Enman Cres., Charlottet­own. This refresher course for adults 55+ years of age is conducted in a classroom setting using a PowerPoint presentati­on, student workbooks, and group discussion­s guided by an experience­d instructor. A fee of $10 per person covers the cost of the course manual and refreshmen­ts. There is limited seating and preregistr­ation is recommende­d. Wednesday, Oct. 24 for the Food Exchange’s Step Up to the Plate fundraisin­g dinner at the P.E.I. Farm Centre, 420 University Ave. Under the direction of Chef Emily Wells this vegetarian dinner showcases local, seasonal produce. No ticket is required for drop ins during Appie Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Dinner is from 6-8:30 pm.
