Harding seeks seat in Stratford’s Ward 2

-

Rob Harding has announced he will seek the Ward 2 Stewart Cove seat on Stratford council on Nov. 5.

Harding and his wife, Christa, have been residents of Stratford for 15 years.

They have four children, Kristen, 27,

Faith, 18, Carson, 16 and

Jared, 12, and three grandchildren.

Harding grew up in East Royalty with his brother, Stephen, and their sister, Mandy.

He currently works as a school bus driver for the Public Schools Branch.

He also works as a timekeeper for UPEI men’s and women’s hockey programs and sometimes he dabbles with working the clock for the Charlottetown Islanders.

“I am also proud to claim that I worked with Pat and the Elephant for 17 years prior to driving school bus,’’ Harding said.

“In between driving a school bus I would spend the rest of my work day working with seniors in their home as a care giver.’’

His volunteer work includes being on Stratford’s Citizens on Patrol.

He also sits on Stratford minor baseball executive as recording secretary.

Harding has coached boys and girls soccer, lacrosse and baseball in Stratford.

Harding has also been involved in Pownal minor hockey for the past nine years as a trainer, manager or sometimes both.

Harding said in his younger days he was vice-president and recording secretary for the local union.

“I have sat on both provincial and national committees while I was involved with my local union.’’
