Ceilidh is Oct. 21, 7 p.m., at Kelly’s Cross Community Centre. The Centre House Band (Bill Campbell, Elmer Doiron, Gertie Campbell, Dorothy Farish and Mike Johnson) will open the show. Emcee is Jackie Molyneaux. Entertainm­ent lineup includes Pat Molyneaux, Mike Johnson, Chris Martin, Jim Gorman, Ashley Gorman, Robert Mullins, Mary Hughes Power with Carol Gillan, Ann MacDougall, and Ann Morais. There will also be a 50/50 draw. The Centre is wheelchair accessible, located at 1475, Route 13, Kelly’s Cross. Admission at the door will include a light lunch, tea and coffee.

A kitchen party is at St. Margaret’s Hall, 11394 Northside Rd., Sundays, 8 p.m. Music is by Rannie, Kevin and Urban. There will also be a 50/50 draw, door prizes and lunch. Admission is $8.

Winsloe United Church Ceilidh is Oct. 22, 7:30 p.m. Host Dino Dunsford will be joined by the popular duo of Eddy Quinn and multi-instrument­alist Keelin Wedge. Located at 121 Winsloe Rd., church is wheel-chair accessible, with plenty of parking. A light lunch will be served. Admission is $10 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.

MacKinnon Homestead Scottish Ceilidh Concert Series is Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m., at MacKinnon Homestead Grounds, 31228 Route 2, Richmond. Call 902-854-3513. Acoustic jams are held Wednesdays, 6:30-9 p.m., at Murphy’s Community Centre, Richmond Street, Charlottet­own (except holidays). Everyone is welcome to bring an instrument and join in or just listen. There’s a canteen and a 50/50 draw in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund. On Oct. 24 it’s an East Coast Kitchen Party with The Chaisson Trio with Kevin Chaisson, Louise (Chaisson) MacKinnon and fiddler Rainie MacLennan. Special guest is the host, Larry Campbell.

Helping Hands Band jamboree is at St. Anthony’s Hall, Route 2. Woodstock, with the next one Oct. 19, 7:30 p.m., with funds raised supporting local charities. Admission is at the door.

Reubens Jamboree will be held at the Seaview Hall in Seaview, Route 20, on Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. There will be a 50/50 draw. Admission is $5. All lunch brought will be shared.

Afternoon recitals featuring UPEI Music Majors in performanc­e are on Fridays starting at 12:40 p.m. in the Steel Recital hall beginning on Oct. 19 and running until Nov. 30 for the fall semester.

The P.E.I. Symphony Orchestra 2018/2019 season-opening concert takes place on Oct. 21 at Zion Presbyteri­an Church in Charlottet­own. It features a rare revival of Linda Bouchard’s “Exquisite Fires”. Guest cello soloist Denise Djokic will join the orchestra to perform Dvořák’s “Cello Concerto in B minor”. Continuing with the fire theme, the program also includes Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 59, “Fire”. Evangeline Recreation Centre, the Acadian Musical Village and Mont Carmel Parish hold a Chase
