Dates to remember

Oct. 31: Halloween dress-up day. Nov. 5: annual career day for grades 11 and 12 in the afternoon. Nov. 8-9: P.E.I.TF annual convention (no classes).

Parent/teacher interviews will take place on the evening of Nov. 22 and the morning of Nov. 23.

2019 grad news: Teacher advisers are Jaime Cole and Evan Killorn. The KRHS grad class of 2019 went through the Route 6 Motel Haunted House and played a round of mini-golf for its October grad activity before returning to the school for the first school dance on Oct. 18. The September grad activity was team building games in the gym on Sept. 25. The grad executive for the year consists of Morgan Bernard, Brooke McCardle, Selina Lowther, Alex McGrath, Zach Iwankow, Maddy Moffatt and Nathaniel Pickering.

Grad photos will take place on Friday, Nov. 9 at Heckbert’s in Summerside. Grads are reminded to hand in their baby photos and grad write-ups for the 2019 KRHS yearbook by Oct. 29.

Montague Regional High School

Student council will be putting on its annual Haunted Halls event on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6:30-8:30. This year there will be some family friendly activities in the cafeteria as well as the spooky walk throughout the school. Admission will be $5 for adults and $2 for children under 14.

School Library Week will be celebrated Oct. 22-26. Visit the library and check daily announceme­nts for contests, events and freebies from Mrs. Killeen.

Parent council meeting will be Oct. 22, at 5:30 p.m.

Montague High is looking forward to a career expo on the morning of Oct. 30, from 8:4511:45 a.m., where students will have the opportunit­y to attend individual­ly-chosen career informatio­n sessions. A wide variety of career profession­als will be on hand to share insight into their occupation­s. Stay tuned for more informatio­n.

Colonel Gray High School

A warm welcome to new cleaner, Don McKenna, joining the Colonel Gray staff.

The Terry Fox Run for Colonel Gray raised an impressive $6,500. Well done committee and students.

The Rotary Youth Exchange Program informatio­n meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Colonel Gray Lecture Theater. Use the student/visitor parking lot closest to downtown — last entrance. Interested 2019 exchange students, as well as parents, should attend.

Eighteen students will be attending a Making Waves Training Conference today and tomorrow. Healthy relationsh­ips, consent and boundaries, relationsh­ip dynamics and internet safety will be topics of training.

These students will then become peer leaders, who raise awareness, by presenting to junior high students about being safe and healthy.

Auditions for the musical “We Will Rock You” will take place afternoons of this week.

The intermedia­te math assessment Grade 9 results will be made available on Students Achieve (SAS) beginning Oct. 23. Parents may navigate through SAS to obtain their child’s IMA results using the link https://tinyurl. com/y7nqstyp

A representa­tive from Saint Mary’s University will be visiting student services over lunch on Oct. 24.

Student council will host a Halloween dance on Oct. 25 from 7-10 p.m. with $5 admission.

Donations for the annual Coats for Kids Campaign may be left in the bin outside student services by Oct. 26. Jackets, snowsuits, hats, mitts, boots, etc. (from infant through adult sizes) are all appreciate­d. Help share the warmth this winter.

Charlottet­own Rural High School

A special thank you to LUVRBOY (Noah Pursey), King Ing (Nathaniel Ing) and Julien Kitson for donating their time and talent during a lunch time concert in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. The musicians played to a sold out crowd and raised over $600 for cancer research.

The Canadian senior and intermedia­te math contests, conducted by the University of Waterloo, will be written on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. in the lecture theatre. Students who are interested in participat­ing should see Ms. Walker in Room 303 by Friday, Oct. 26.

Raider math club

The newly formed Raider math club meets on the last day of the week at 11:40 in Room 302. This is an opportunit­y to share a love of math and work on problems to prepare for the upcoming Waterloo math contests.

Tuesday, Oct. 23, Saint Mary’s University will be visiting to speak with prospectiv­e students at 11:30 in student services.

School photo retakes will take place on Friday, Oct. 26.
