Phase II to play at benefit dance

-

The Charlottetown Fire Hall will be the setting for a benefit dance in aid of Shannon Morriscey on Friday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m. until midnight, with dancing 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $10 each.

Morriscey’s family and friends have put a lot of effort into organizing this event, which is being billed as a Halloween benefit dance, so feel free to put on a costume and scary face or leave the costume at home. Either way, be ready to dance because the organizing committee has booked one of the Island’s best dance bands for this event.

Phase II has been filling dance floors for many years, often in aid of someone else who is going through a difficult time, as is the case for Morriscey.

“It’s great to have big pay nights, no matter what business you are in, but I must admit, money in your pocket doesn’t feel nearly as good as knowing that you’re part of an effort to benefit someone who needs a hand,” says Gerry Hickey, lead singer of the band.

“Most people are really appreciative of the help we are able to give, and we are fortunate that all of our band members are likeminded in these endeavours. We never argue about it and seldom even discuss it; we just do it.”

Tickets may be purchased by calling 902-367-6234 or by emailing kkmonteith@gmail.com.

Some tickets will be available at the door, which opens at 8 p.m.
