Wild perfect at Monctonian tournament

Central Attack wins first two games of bantam competitio­n

The Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild are 2-0 at the Monctonian midget AAA hockey tournament.

The Wild defeated the Pictou County Weeks 5-1 on Friday.

Landon Clow, Ryan Richard, Bennett MacArthur, Lucas Parsons and Simon Hughes scored for Kensington.

Keiran Gallant had two assists for the Wild while singles went to Clow, MacArthur, Zac Arsenault, Colby MacArthur, Duncan Picketts, Jack Campbell, Dixon MacLeod and Kalib Snow.

Josh Smith was the winning goalie while Hughes was named the team’s player of the game.

The Wild held 3-1 and 4-1 period leads. Kensington plays the Ajax Pickering Raiders today at 8:45 a.m.

Mont-Saint-Anne 2, Charlottet­own 2

Jacob Turmel scored with 58 seconds remaining to give College du Mont-Saint-Anne a 2-2 tie with the Charlottet­own Bulk Carriers Pride.

Nathan Hardy had given the Quebec squad a 1-0 lead eight minutes into the game, but Noah Griffin tied it with 6:42 to play in the first period and Jake Squires scored the go-ahead goal less than a minute later.

Cameron MacLean, Cole Larkin and Sam MacNeill each had an assist for the Pride while Erik MacInnis was the team’s goalie.

The Pride (0-1-1) plays the St. John’s Maple Leafs (1-1-0) today at 12:15 p.m.

Bantam

Kal White had two goals and an assist to pace the Central Attack to a 4-1 win over the Truro Bearcats to improve to 2-0-0 in the bantam tournament.

Colby Huggan and Cam Squires each had a goal and an assist in the victory while Max Sentner, Will Morrison and Chris Koughlan each contribute­d an assist. Shannon MacDonald was the winning goalie.

They played a late game against the Northwest Bulls (1-1-0) to complete their preliminar­y round action.

Dieppe 7, Express 0

The Dieppe Flyers shut out the Eastern Express 7-0.

Dieppe held 4-0 and 5-0 period leads. The Express completed preliminar­y round play 0-3.

Fredericto­n 7, Prince County 0

The Prince County Warriors lost 7-0 to the Fredericto­n Blues to fall to 0-2-0.

Fredericto­n held 2-0 and 4-0 period leads. Prince County played The Novas (1-1) in a late game Friday.

Mid-Isle

The Mid-Isle Matrix played the Valley Wildcats in a late game Friday night after starting the tournament 0-2 on Thursday.
