Performers set to take the stage on Nov. 18 at UPEI

-

Dino Dunsford will be hosting a ceilidh on Sunday, Nov. 18, 1:30 p.m., at the Seniors Active Living Centre in the Bell Aliant Centre at UPEI.

Admission is $10 at the door which opens at 12:30 p.m.

He will be joined by special guest Colleen MacPhee, along with Judy Lowe and Brian Knox.

Dunsford and Lowe played at Peakes Wharf all summer and were more than happy with the number of tourists and especially Islanders that would show up every Tuesday and Thursday evenings with their lawn chairs, enjoying the music and joining in on the songs. They will be performing many of the songs they played this summer with the help of Brian Knox on drums.

MacPhee is a member of the Lady Singers of our Century and stars as Rita MacNeil. She grew up listening to MacNeil and loves her music and lyrics.

Dunsford performed for many years as a rock ’n’ roll singer, but in recent years he has been singing many genres of music, including country, Irish and gospel.

He has shared the stage with Chubby Checker and John Allen Cameron and has sung the national anthems at many functions. The award-winning performer picked up the Music P.E.I. Contribution Award for 2018. He has released five albums and is known for the energy he puts into his live shows.

There’s plenty of free parking close by, and tickets are available at the door right up to showtime. This ceilidh is a fundraiser for the centre.
