Leadership conference attracts attention
A leadership conference taking place in Charlottetown next week is gathering attention from women leaders across the province.
Amped Up is a daylong conference that will profile Island women leaders, hear their stories and support leadership advancement. The conference, put together by the Get Up & Go: Events for Women Leaders group, includes panel presentations from Island leaders such as such singer/songwriter Catherine MacLellan, Canadian Press journalist, Teresa Wright, nationally recognized financial advisor Isabel Delaney, food writer and chef Ilona Daniel and many more.
“Response to our regular Get Up & Go Breakfast events has been consistently strong, with one message every time: ‘I wish we had more time’,” said organizer and member of the founding Get Up & Go group, Kerry Anne MacDougall.
“So, we decided to give them just that, more time to hear stories, share our experiences and learn together as leaders.”
The conference begins on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 29 with a social event followed by the conference on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Delta Conference Centre.
Topics to be discussed include success and resiliency, being visible in your profession and powerful self-presentation. With a combination of panel discussions and workshops, attendees will be provided with concrete actions to continue to build their businesses, organizations and careers.
“Our events really appeal to women leaders that are mid to late career,” said Get Up & Go founder and organizer, Sara Roach-Lewis. “As leaders we have learned a great deal, have a lot to share and still much learn from each other.”
Registration for the conference is still open, with spots filling up daily. Anyone interested in learning more or to register can visit Getupandgopei.com.
