Surrounded by her family, Rita McInnis of Charlottet­own peacefully passed away at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on November 22, 2018 at age 96. Beloved wife of the late Houlton McInnis (2006). Also, predecease­d by siblings Ada (Daimen), Alice (Austin), Anne, Edna (Pete), Emmett (Rita), Pius, Austin ( Eileen) and Bernice (Elmer). Survived by her loving family, Rollie (Carol), Lorraine Jelley (Paul, deceased), Noel (Colleen), Anne Cote (Jean), Mary Blanchard (Ronnie), Betty Auld (Errol). Cherished grandmothe­r to nineteen grandchild­ren: Jim McInnis, Nadine Paz (Chris), Melanie Bell (Trevor), Katie MacMillan (Craig), Blake Jelley (Jennifer), Chera Hoditch (Fraser), Crista Mucci (Warren), Mark McInnis (Christine), Nathan McInnis (Valon), Jacob McInnis (Natalie), Chris Cote (Carrie), Laura Cote (Kevin), Brad Cote (Gillian), Kendra Cote, Ryan Blanchard (Lori), Justin Blanchard (Amy), William Auld (Nikki), Mary Auld (Brett), Clair Auld. She had a special place in her heart for all 29 great grandchild­ren. Also, missed by brothers Louis Trainor (Mary), Aeneas and many special nephews, nieces and neighbors. Mom was always the heart of our home. She was devoted to her family and her Christian values. Her faith inspired all who knew her. She touched many with her quiet acts of kindness. Well done good and faithful servant. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottet­own Funeral Home for visitation on Tuesday, November 27, 4:00-8:00 pm. Members of the St. Pius X Catholic Womens League will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 28, with Funeral mass at St. Pius X Church at 10:00 Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
