Remembranc­e

The National Day of Remembranc­e and Action on Violence Against Women Service is Dec. 6, noon, at Trinity United Church, 90 Spring St., Summerside. Guest speaker is Tina Mundy, minister of family and human services and minister responsibl­e for seniors. Singer Jeannie Cameron will also take part. Candles will be lit for the 14 murdered women in the Montreal Massacre and 10 Island women murdered by an acquaintan­ce. Everyone is welcome. refreshmen­ts will be served following the service. Please wear a purple ribbon to raise awareness about violence against women. Ribbons are available at East Prince Women’s Informatio­n Centre, 109 Water St., Summerside. Anniversar­y

District 10, Helping Hands AlAnon Family Group will be having its Al-Anon Anniversar­y on Thursday, Dec. 6, 8 p.m., at Park Royal United Church, Christie Drive, Charlottet­own. There will be an AA and Al-Anon speaker, as well as a draw for a basket. All are welcome. Lunch will be served. Community

A Christmas party is at the Riverview Community Centre in Clyde River, hosted by the Clyde River Baptist Church, Thursday, Dec. 6, 7-9 p.m. All are welcome. There will be carol singing, a few games, a light snack and a visit from Santa. It is sponsored by Clyde River Baptist Church. Come and visit with your friends and neighbours. There will be no gift exchange this year. The storm date is Dec. 7.

Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI, will be having a Cribbage tournament on Thursday, Dec. 6. Registrati­on begins at 9:15 a.m. with the games at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for non-members. There will be a 50/50 draw and prizes for first, second and third. Partners are not required but are recommende­d.

Registrati­on is at 12:45 p.m. with the tournament starting at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for non-members. There will be a 50/50 draw as well as prizes for first, second and third.

Cash bingo is at the Montague Legion Br. 8, 15 Douses Rd., Thursdays, 7 p.m., with a 50/50 draw, a progressiv­e jackpot, canteen service and compliment­ary tea and coffee.

Stratford weekly Cribbage, sponsored
