Attack wins twice

Huggan has eight points for Central

The Central Attack keeps on winning.

The Attack stretched its winning streak to eight games in the Prince Edward Island Bantam AAA Hockey League by defeating the Mid-Isle Matrix 8-0 Saturday in Charlottet­own after beating the Prince County Warriors 7-2 Friday in O’Leary.

The Attack is now a leaguelead­ing 14-1-0 with its lone loss coming Nov. 3 at the hands of Prince County. The Warriors are 4-9-0 while the Matrix is 2-12-0 in the four-team league.

Attack 8, Matrix 0

Colby Huggan (3-2) and Kal White (2-3) each had five-point games against the Matrix while Jonah MacDonald and Cam Squires both had a goal and two assists.

Brett Arsenault also scored. Luke Coughlin had a pair of helpers while singles went to Isaac Vos, Nathan Mossey and Bates Ling.

Jack Howatt earned his fifth shutout of the season while Noah Visser took the loss.

Central was 4-for-7 with the man advantage and killed all five of Mid-Isle’s power plays. The game was scoreless after the first period while Central took a 6-0 lead to the third.

Attack 7, Warriors 2

Huggan had two goals and an assist while Arsenault tallied twice in the road victory.

Jamie Collins and White each had a goal and a helper. MacDonald rounded out the scoring. Vos and Ling chipped in a pair of assists while Chris Koughlan had one.

Shannon MacDonald earned the win while Nylan Hustler took the loss.

The Attack held 4-1 and 5-1 period leads. Prince County was 1-for-7 on the power play and gave up a shorthande­d goal. The Attack scored on one of its two chances with the man advantage.
