More than $300,000 in community grants and scholarshi­ps available

Applicatio­ns are now being accepted at the Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island (CFPEI) for more than 30 community granting funds and scholarshi­ps.

The foundation will be awarding more than $300,000 to deserving Island students and organiza-tions.

Scholarshi­ps ranging from $500 to $5,000 dollars and representi­ng a wide range of criteria are open to students graduating from P.E.I. high schools this year as well as some which are open to students presently studying at a post-secondary institutio­n.

A descriptio­n of all grants and scholarshi­ps as well as applicatio­n forms can be found on the founda-tion’s website at www. cfpei.ca. Applicatio­ns will remain open until May 1 and can be submitted by email to info@cfpei.ca or in person at 119 Queen St., Suite 102.

Grants addressing a wide range of causes that benefit Island communitie­s are also available to P.E.I.-based, non-profit organizati­ons with registered charitable status.

Now in its 26th year, CFPEI currently manages over 80 funds with a combined value of over $10 mil-lion dollars and distribute­s funds to all corners of the community in arts and culture, education, health, social services and the environmen­t. CFPEI works with its donors to realize their philan-thropic goals, matching their interests with the needs of the community.
