Fundraiser

A strawberry and ice cream social will be held at West River United Church Hall, 9 Cornwall Rd., Cornwall on Wednesday, July 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy the wonderful tradition of neighbours and visitors getting together to enjoy sandwiches, sweets, coffee, tea or lemonade and local strawberries and ice cream. Gluten free sandwiches and sweets are also available, as well as a table with home-cooked goodies for sale. Tickets are $4 for children under 12 and $10 for everyone else and are available at the door or can be reserved by calling the church office, 902-566-4052 (mornings) or Winnie MacArthur at 902-675-2462.

Meetings

T.O.P.S. Borden chapter PE3155, meets Wednesdays at the Borden Legion. Weigh-in starts at about 5:10 p.m. with the starting at 5:45 p.m.

T.O.P.S. #1968, Souris, meets Wednesdays in the classroom at the Souris Hospital, 5:45-6:45 p.m. Call Mae, 902-687-2877.

T.O.P.S. PE #4189, Kensington, meets on Wednesdays at the Holy Family Parish Centre, 30 Pleasant St. Weigh-in: 6-7 p.m.; meeting: 7 p.m. Call Evelyn at 902-836-5639. The annual meeting of the Keir Memorial Museum, Malpeque, will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 7 p.m., in the museum. A full attendance is requested. Everyone is welcome.

Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

Scrabble is played at the Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant

Centre, UPEI, Wednesdays, 1 p.m.

Auction/45s is at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre, Charlottetown, Wednesdays 1:30 p.m. Admission is $2. There will also be a 50/50 draw.

Card parties (45s) are in St. Teresa’s in the church activity room, Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. The game is being played as singles, so a partner is not necessary. There is a 50/50 draw, and a light lunch.

St. Pius X Church Knights of Columbus cribbage is Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m., in the basement of St. Pius X Church, St. Peter’s Road, Charlottetown, with prize, a loonie pot and a 50/50 draw. Bring a partner. Cost: $5 per person.

Classes

Chair yoga is Wednesdays 10:30 a.m., at Sanctuary Yoga and Massage in the Sherwood Business Centre, 161 St. Peters Rd., Charlottetown. Shorehill Yoga is offering free beach yoga classes on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. during July and August at Argyle Shore Provincial Park, weather permitting.
