Dangle Ona Dime has rail control in back-up class

SUMMERSIDE – The sophomore takes on the veteran at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

The Prince County oval will host 11 dashes as the first race goes post-ward at 1 p.m.

The Race 10 Preferred 2 Pace is the top event of the day for a $2,800 purse and 2018 Governor’s Plate winner, Czar Seelster, is the top choice from Post 5. Mike McGuigan will pick up the drive for trainer Todd Weatherbee and owner Tammy Johnston of Stratford.

The 10-year-old son of Stonebridg­e Regal shows 1:541:55 down his program page. However, he will face a fresh challenge in three-year-old pacer Manatario from Post 2. Alex Sobey trains and drives Mantario for owner Walter Simmons of Summerside. The sophomore son of Sportwrite­r has been superb lately, including a 1:54.3 victory on Governor’s Plate night with Kenny Arsenault in the bike.

Adkins Hanover has Post 3 and P.E.I.’s leading female driver, Ambyr Campbell, will be back in the bike for trainer Trevor Hicken. The fast-leaving son of Western Ideal saw his last victory on July 7 in Summerside.

Also in the field is Nogreat-mischief (driven by Walter Cheverie) and Rockin Indy (David Dowling).

The back-up class goes behind the gate in Race 8 for a $2,400 purse. Dangle Ona Dime gets rail control in the event. Corey MacPherson is back in the bike after steering the son of Pang Shui to a 1:55.4 lifetime best in his latest start.

Top contenders in the field include Red Magician (Adam Merner) and Noudidnt Blue Chip (Mike McGuigan).

Driver Jason Hughes will be the special guest on the Inside Track with host Rocky Schurman. The interview segment airs on the Red Shores TV network at 12:35 p.m.
