Monday, Aug. 5, for the Augustine Cove WI ice cream social at the North Tryon Presbyterian Church CE Centre, 5-7:30 p.m. The menu includes ice cream, strawberry shortcake, sundaes, sweets and hot and cold beverages. Admission is $8, adults, $4, for children between 5 and 10 and free for children under 5. Barbecued hot dogs available for an extra $3. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2-4 p.m. for the annual Lower Montague Community Picnic at the Lower Montague Women’s Institute Hall, 88 Lower Montague Rd. Enjoy entertainment, hotdogs and strawberry shortcake. There is no admission. All are welcome.

Aug. 20, 5-6:30 p.m., for St. John’s Anglican Church Blueberry Social at the Milton Community hall, Rustico Road, corner of routes 7 and 224. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under.
