Grass Roots & Cowboy Boots returns Sept. 7
Tickets for the 11th annual Grass Roots & Cowboy Boots are now on sale.
This event, set for Sept. 7, has become a staple in the Summerside area, not only as an important fundraiser for the Prince County Hospital Foundation, but also as a community gathering not to be missed.
This year’s event will again feature many musical acts for patrons to enjoy along with a steak and lobster dinner. Allison Smith will be the returning voice of the auction, while Kerri-Wynne MacLeod and Roger Ahern will share emcee duties.
This fundraising event is organized and financed by Warren Ellis and supported by his team and his family, meaning 100 per cent of every dollar raised at the event will support the purchase of much-needed medical equipment for patients at the Prince County Hospital. Not only that, but each ticket purchased includes a chance to win a Jeep Wrangler Sport donated by Ellis’ business Summerside Chrysler Dodge.
“Grass Roots & Cowboy Boots has become a flagpole in the success of the PCH Foundation’s Vital Signs Appeal,” says PCH Foundation volunteer president Liz Maynard.
“As the greatest needs in medical equipment and technology continue to grow in both volume and price, this event has been essential to our success in equipping our hospital. Our deepest thanks go out to Warren Ellis, his family, his employees, the City of Summerside, as well as our volunteers and patrons who have helped us in raising over $7.1 million since the event was first held in 2009. We are looking forward to another wonderful evening of community spirit in September.”
Tickets are $100 each and are available at Summerside Chrysler Dodge or by calling 902-853-7160. Limited tickets are also available at the PCH Foundation office in the hospital lobby.
This year the foundation must raise $2,214,700 for medical equipment and technology at PCH. Paramount on the list this year is the need to replace all of the cardiac monitors at $820,000 (a two-year project). A host of other important items needed in a variety of departments at PCH make up the Vital Signs Appeal for 2019.
