Sixth annual antique farm show Saturday

Kinkora fundraiser supports Children’s Wish, Prince County Hospital

KINKORA — The tradition continues at R&L Farms in Kinkora, as the sixth annual antique farm show runs Saturday, Aug. 10, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors are invited to roam the grounds of the potato farm, viewing antique farm machinery, including new finds, equipment, trucks, tractors and cars, stationary engines and more.

“Islanders and visitors have been extremely generous over the last five years, and we are excited to continue to support Island charities, organizations and families while offering a look into Island farming history,” said Peter Roberts, farm co-owner and event organizer.

“Our collection of antiques and equipment is always growing, so if you’ve visited before, make sure to come back.”

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit two local organizations: the P.E.I. Chapter of Children’s Wish and the Prince County Hospital Foundation.

The P.E.I. chapter of Children’s Wish is working on 28 wishes for Island children — the most ever at one time in the chapter’s history.

Proceeds from the farm show will go toward granting one of these wishes.

The PCH Foundation’s Vital Signs Appeal Greatest Needs 2019 campaign is raising funds for crucial pieces of equipment for various hospital departments.

This includes the replacement of all cardiac monitors.

There will also be a silent auction, bake sale, 50/50 draw and live entertainment, featuring the Chaisson Trio, Not All There, Roberts Academy of Dance and more. Greco pizza and Cavendish Farm fries will be available for purchase.

Admission to the show is by donation.

The farm is located at 5529 Route 225, Kinkora.
