The Locomotion is in concert Aug. 13, 7-9 p.m., and not 12:30-2 p.m., as listed in the DMT listing on Friday. The concert will be held at the Victoria Park concert pavilion, Charlottetown, celebrating the 100th anniversary of CN Railways with storyteller Alan Buchanan and the Locomotion Band (Kendall Docherty, Niall MacKay, Peter Burke, Heartz Godkin, Brian Knox, Jimi Platts, Brian Blacquiere).

Presentation

A free Taste and Learn…Summer Side Dishes! class is Wednesday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m. to noon, at Sobeys West Royalty. Join the Sobeys dietitian and learn how to prepare tasty new recipes. Samples are provided. Call 902-566-4399 or email shannon.mcquaid@sobeys.com to register. Space is limited.

Fundraiser

Long Creek Women’s Institute invites annual ice cream and strawberry social is Aug. 14, 6-8 p.m., at the Long Creek Hall. There will be lots of ice cream, strawberries and sweets. Proceeds support the hall repairs.

Cards/Cribbage/ Crokinole

An ACBL sanctioned duplicate game is Tuesdays, 7-10 p.m., at the Haviland Club, Charlottetown, with a guaranteed partner and fun play. Contact irene.macarthur.pei@gmail.com or 902-394-3179. There are also private lessons for four people available.

Bridge is played at the Silver Threads Club in Souris on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
