DANCES
Country dance/open mike, featuring Mary and Clifford, is at Goose River Community Centre, Sept. 7, 8-11 p.m. Admission is $8. There is a door prize and lunch.
Phase II and Friends will be joined by Dino Dunsford and Kim Albert for an evening of dancing on Sept. 7 at the Murphy Centre, Charlottetown, 8 p.m. Dance to some of the Island’s best-loved tunes and support Special Olympics through a 50/50 draw. Formally-trained English butler John Robertson will give a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of Downton Abbey. LESSONS
International Folk Dancing Group offers a chance to learn different dances from around the world on Thursdays, 7 p.m., at the O’Leary Public Library. No previous experience is necessary.
New dancers are welcome for this autumn’s Heritage Social Dance Group at Beaconsfield dance evenings. Dancing will begin on Sept. 11, 7-9:15 p.m., at the Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown. The Carriage House is located on West Street, behind Beaconsfield Historic House, 2 Kent St. No previous dance experience is needed, and a partner is not required.
