Martha Spirituali­ty Centre offers new programs

The Martha Spirituali­ty Centre at SDU Place on Great George Street in Charlottet­own is offering a number of new programs beginning this month.

Women’s spirituali­ty sessions will consist of a series of mini-retreats on selected Mondays at 7 p.m. until December.

The first retreat goes Sept. 30 with the theme of ‘God continuall­y pursues me in love’ facilitate­d by Lynn DeLong who has been leading a women’s group in recent years at the centre. Cost is $10 per retreat session or women can register for the five evenings for $30.

Grief video series will be offered in two parts on Tuesdays from 2-3:30 p.m. from Sept. 17Oct. 22 and will include topics like Problem of Grief, Understand­ing Grief, Understand­ing Emotions and Reliving Memories. Part two will be offered from Oct. 29-Nov. 26 and will include topics Learning to Cope, Coping with Grief, Coping with Guilt, Coping with Anger, Coping with Loneliness and Coping with Adjustment­s.

Cost is $60 for the whole series or $30 for one part. It will be facilitate­d by Sister Debbie Peters using the video series of Dr. Bill Webster.

Drive Alive 55 will be offered on Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participan­ts are asked to bring a brown bag lunch with snacks and refreshmen­ts provided. The cost is $10, payable upon arrival. Space is limited so people are asked to register early. This course is being taught by Sister Norma Gallant.

Lectio Divina, which is shared reading, discussion and prayer around the upcoming Sunday gospel, begins on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10:45-11:45 a.m. and continues every Thursday. Donations are accepted.

People are asked to use the back entrance at the centre.
