The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel will host the 10th edition of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall Sept. 27-29.

The opening concert will take place on Sept. 27, 7 p.m., with an evening of entertainment by students from the Evangeline School. Numerous students will take the stage to showcase their talents in music and in song. Admission is by donation to the school’s music program. The canteen will be open, and there will be a 50/50 draw.

For the closing concert, taking place at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29, a concert will be presented featuring an adult choir under the direction of Yolande Painchaud. Also performing wil be singer Adrienne Gallant with her dad, Paul D. Gallant, as well as Gadelle and members of their families.

Gallant has always been interested in music, theatre and the arts. She participated in several shows as an actress and singer, such as Le Grand Cercle, the musical Port LaJoye that toured in Louisiana, dinner-theatres at the Acadian Musical Village, a few of the Acadian Festival closing shows and many others over the past 15 years. She and her father, Paul D., worked hard on the launch of her album, “Ballades, A father and daughter project”. On this album, she sings the ballads her father has written them over the past 40 years. During this show, she will be joined on stage and accompanied by her dad.

Gadelle is a traditional French-Acadian group composed of four members, including Louise Arsenault and Hélène Bergeron, who are former members of the internationallyrenowned group Barachois. Caroline Bernard and Rémi Arsenault complete the formation. All hailing from Prince Edward Island, members of Gadelle play and dance with ferocity and conviction while putting on one heck of a show. During the course of the evening, members of their families will join them on stage.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for members of the cooperative, $5 for students and free for preschoolers. There will also be 50/50 tickets and a canteen.
