‘Shake, Rattle, Bow’ tour comes to UPEI Oct.25

Concert embraces tonal and melodic contempora­ry compositio­ns by Canadian composers

UPEI’s Department of Music and Debut Atlantic are hosting Bev & Marc for a super-energy, dynamic performanc­e with eclectic programmin­g.

Combining the violin and marimba, Beverley Johnston and Marc Djokic display their individual and combined virtuosity with a down-to-earth approach. This 10-concert tour of Atlantic Canada is entitled “Shake, Rattle, Bow,” and it embraces tonal and melodic contempora­ry compositio­ns and features works by four Canadian composers.

Bev & Marc will appear in Charlottet­own on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

This concert, presented by the University of Prince Edward Island,

will be held at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall in the UPEI Steel Building. Tickets are available at the door.

In addition to concert engagement­s, Bev & Marc will be working with young students and performing at schools throughout the region.

They will also participat­e in a video conferenci­ng session hosted by Newfoundla­nd’s Centre for Distance Learning and Innovation (CDLI), which will be available for public viewing around the world at a date to be announced soon.
