Learn about career opportunit­ies and immediate casual work opportunit­ies for substitute teachers, educationa­l assistants, school bus drivers, administra­tive assistants and cleaners. Both events will be held 1-7 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 8, 4-6:30 p.m., for the annual hot turkey dinner at Hillcrest United Church in Montague – eat in or take-out. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available. The cost is adults, $16, 12 and under, $8.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, to Friday, Dec. 13, for Passport to Employment Fall Offering in Charlottet­own and in Summerside. For those between the ages of 55 and 64 who wish to re-enter the workforce, these programs are being held in the Career Bridges’ Summerside and Charlottet­own locations. Friday, Nov. 22, for the annual St. Andrew’s Dinner in the Georgian Ballroom, Rodd Charlottet­own Hotel. A reception is at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. This year’s recipient of the Caledonian Award, awarded to an organizati­on or an individual who has striven to preserve, protect and promote Scottish culture and heritage in P.E.I., is the late Marion MacPhail. Professor emeritus Brent Maynard will be the guest speaker. A celebratio­n of life in memory of Angus Quigley will be held at Miscouche Legion on Nov. 2, 7 p.m. A live auction will be held with Denis Lowther, as well as a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, bake sale and basket draw. Music will follow.

Entertainm­ent

Country dance/open mike with Mary and Clifford is at Goose River Community Centre, Nov. 2, 8-11 p.m. Admission is $8. There is a door prize and lunch.
