-

The Lady Singers of Our Century take the stage at the Summerside Presbyterian Church to present their first Christmas Concert of 2019 on Sunday, Dec 1, 2 p.m.

Hosts, Ding and Dong (the Bell Sisters) will keep the action rolling as Jolee Patkai, Colleen MacPhee, Jacinta MacDonald, Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor, all members of the Lady Singers of Our Century, perform the Christmas music of Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Rita MacNeil, Patsy Cline, Reba MacEntire and Anne Murray.

They will be singing old and newer Christmas songs that will take the audience down memory lane, such songs as “Christmas Wishes” sung by Murray and presented by McGregor and Reeves, “To Heck with Old Santa Claus” and “Go Tell it on the Mountain”, sung by Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton presented by Patkai, “Let it Snow” and “O Holy Night” presented by MacDonald and “Late December” and “The Season Will Never Grow Old” sung by Rita MacNeil and presented by MacPhee. They will be joined by band members Dave Berrigan,

Heartz Godkin, Brian Knox and Judy Lowe.

Patkai is also a member of Treble with Girls and has been invited to sing with Carol Baker when she presents her Christmas Show at The Manse this December.

MacDonald was the opening act for Wayne Rhonstat at the Crapaud Exhibition a number of years ago.

MacPhee, who grew up listening to MacNeil and loved her lyrics and music, shows her true likeness to MacNeil when she sings her songs. MacPhee also performs at many different ceilidh and benefits.

The group was thrilled to be invited to perform for the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, N.S., in November of this year.

There will be a light lunch with a special treat of hot apple cider. Admission is $15 at the door with door opening at 1:30 p.m.
