The Stratford ceilidh annual

Christmas ceilidh is Dec. 8, 7 p.m., at the Cotton Centre, Stratford, featuring Joseph and Janice Hebert, Charles Hughes, Roy Trainor, John Hume, Robert Cain, Cliff Martin as emcee and Carmen Halman. Anyone who would like to entertain should come early to sign in. Admission is a donation of non-perishable food items or a cash donation for the Charlottet­own food bank. John Gracie will release his 14th album on Dec. 6, 7 p.m., at his Christmas Concert at Trinity United Church, presented by the City of Charlottet­own as part of Wintertide Celebratio­ns.

The annual Sorensen Family Christmas concert, “Christmas Dreams”, is Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m., at South Shore United Church, #85 Route 10 in Tryon. Refreshmen­ts and a time for socializin­g will follow. Admission is a free-will offering with

The UPEI Concert Choir, under the direction of Sung Ha Shin-Bouey, will perform The MessiahPar­t I (plus the Hallelujah chorus), in collaborat­ion with the Atlantic String Machine and the UPEI voice majors. Also performing will be the UPEI Chamber Singers, Le Ragazze Girls Vocal Ensemble and the Ragazzi Jrs Singers in collaborat­ion with pianist Leo Marchildon. Rachel Beck and friends present an evening of song, laughter and Christmas cheer at Copper Bottom Brewing in Montague on Dec. 8 for Tickets are available in the taproom or online via eventbrite. This is a 19plus event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Docherty Family Band will present a night of Christmas music and stories on Dec. 8, 7 p.m., at Assumption Parish Church Hall in

Stratford. Proceeds go towards the churches ongoing ministry in the community.

The Men of the Harvest is putting on one of its last concerts at the Southwest River United Church, Margate, Dec. 8, 7 p.m. A free-willing offering will be taken at the door. Come out and hear this group sing many old songs and hymns.

A bluegrass and acoustic music

concert, featuring Lionel Chaisson, Alan MacLean and Ron Arsenault, is Dec. 9, 7-9 p.m., at the Summerside Legion. Open mic performers, 7-7:30 p.m., have free admission. Admission for everyone else is $5. There is a 50/50 draw, door prizes and a jam after the concert.

Musicman Michael Pendergast’s half-hour show of songs, dances, marches and tunes for at-home parents and grandparen­ts who wish to expand children and their sibling’s social skills and musical ears is Tuesdays, 10:45 a.m., at the Confederat­ion Court Mall food court. The gospel group, Jericho Road,

has once again returned to performing and will be offering a concert at Bedeque United Church at 7 p.m. on Dec. 10. The admission of $10 includes a lunch.
