Monday, Jan. 6, 7:30 p.m., for a presentation by staff from the provincial EMO team to share information about “72 Hour Preparedness” and highlighting what the municipal and provincial expectations are in an emergency. This free presentation is being hosted by the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park at the Milton Community Hall. There will be door prizes and the Municipal EMO Survey prize draws. Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m. for a traditional basket weaving course being offered as part of the Learning Elders Art Program. It will be held at the The Seniors Active Living Centre, Bell Aliant Centre, UPEI. Beginning Mi’kmaq artist Marjorie Lewis Paul will be providing instruction for this eight-week course – divided into two sessions. Class size is limited to 12, and a draw will be held to select the participants. The last day to register is Jan. 6. Call the centre at 902-628-8388 for more information or to register.
