CARD OF THANKS ~ Gaudet
The family of recently deceased George Edward Gaudet - his wife Elaine, their children Mark, Colin and Maria, and their spouses and children wish to acknowledge and thank the many who stood by them during George’s last weeks and days, and during the bereavement period: EMS responders, and Dr Trevor Jain and the ER staff provided compassionate and competent treatment and support; Vince Murnaghan, Barb Wood and Don Gillis of the Hillsboro Funeral Home gave strong professional service and sensitive guidance in the making and execution of wake and funeral plans; representatives of various provincial councils of the Knights of Columbus gathered before the wake to offer a prayer service for the family; Father Martin Carter of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Stratford delivered a thoughtful homily and together with guitarists Leo Gallant, Norman LeClair and the Knights of Columbus Choir, the altar servers, pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, flower bearers, Eucharist ministers and readers, performed a solemn and prayerful tribute to George; and, family friend Jill Chandler delivered a reverent and moving rendition of Hallelujah. Sincere appreciation is offered to Elaine’s first cousin Kathleen MacDonald who devotedly supported Elaine and others in innumerable ways before, during and after the death, the wake and the funeral. Niece Robyn Murphy Thompson created and screened a photo series for the wake showing images of George in some of his most affectionate, benevolent and gracious moments. The family also acknowledges, with gratitude, family and friends who traveled from near and far for the wake and funeral, those who brought food to the family, those who sent cards, flowers and spiritual bouquets, and those who made generous donations to the QEH Foundation. Finally, sincere thanks goes out to the Catholic Women’s League of Our Lady of Assumption Parish who supplied and served a lovely restorative reception following the funeral. Thank you!
